Can Polycarbonate and Plexiglass have the same strenght?
My daughter has a baskketball back stop that has a piece of polycarbonate glued to a steel frame. the polycarbonate was broken when the glue holding it to the frane came loose and the wind broke it. I want to replace it with high impact Plexiglass. Will it hold up with a basketball hitting it constantly
Plexiglass is an Acrylic. This is structured much differently than Polycarbonate. Your stronger choice is polycarbonate, the same stuff they use for bullet 'proofing' armored cars.
See the link below.
Acrylic can crack, break and can be dangerous. I've worked with both. Polycarbonate is safer in my opinion.
