KitchenAid carries a variety of different types, sizes, colors and shapes when we talk about stand mixers. There are sizes from 4 quart to 6 quart, there is tilt head type and bowl lift.Then when we are talking about superior craftsmanship, you will be talking about the KitchenAid Pro Line Series. This series of KitchenAid stand mixers is top of the line and comes in various sizes from 4 1/2 quart to 6 quarts. Just like the lower cost models it comes in two different types, the bowl lift and the tilthead type. In the middle of the road you have something like the KitchenAid Pro 500 5 Quart Bowl Lift Stand Mixer which is constructed of all metal (no plastic, a direct drive transmission and a power hub for other attachments.

KitchenAid again has a wide variety of food processors and choppers, in a variety of colors and materials. Now when we staret talking about the top of the line here, again it is the Pro Line Series that we think is some of the best kitchen appliances there is, but they are exspensive for the normal houshold. Which kitchenaid standing mixer is better: tilt head or bowl lift?
Where should I buy it: Sam's club, Costco, Meijer...What are your suggestions?
Don't go cheap on your Kitchen Aid. Get the one with the bowl lift. There are a bunch of reasons why the lift is better than the hinge including if you are working on something stiff you can ease the mixing blade into the dough. You can also scrape the bowl a lot easier with the lift since you don't have to worry about the blade falling down on your hand. I suggest getting a 5qt Profession version at a restaurant supply company if possible. They do not mark up as much as a retail store. The Professional has a heavier gauge bowl and a stronger motor. If you are ok getting one used, they last forever and one that is ten years old is just about as good as a shiny new one.
I used a 5 qt one for a cookie business and made 2000 cookies a day with it in 60 cookie batches.
I think Kohl's has good prices if there is one near you,.
