The Benefits of Liquor Inventory Control
The Benefits of Liquor Inventory Control
It’s the same scenario over and over again. You go to a bar and order a drink. You convince the bartender to make that glass really full. Depending on how well you know the bartender, he may fill your glass to the brim, or give you less than what the bar charges you for a shot.
This is what worries most bar owners. The amount of shrinkage (the average loss in profit due to waste, spillage and theft) in the liquor industry is around 23 percent on draft beer and liquor alone. This is more than enough cause for concern. Another concern is that spillage and theft seems beyond their control. It’s quite impossible to determine the amount of liquor that is being wasted on a particular glass, or exactly how many bottles are consumed. Bartenders work long hours with practically no supervision. The temptation to steal is quite high for bartenders, who man the cash register on a daily basis.
This problem can now be solved by using advanced liquor inventory system such as the one created by Bevcheck. The company uses real-time liquor inventory control and beverage management system in keeping track of what goes in and out a bar’s inventory. This system not only helps the bartender give the right amount of liquor to customers, it also helps him keep track of what liquor has been served and when. The customers also benefit from the system. They don’t have to worry about the bartender cheating them out of their rightful portions or overcharging them in the total bill.

Bar / Pub Insurance : Think About It Carefully
Running a business is certainly a difficult job. Being aware of all the tangible and intangible aspects of the business can be quite stressful. With pubs or bars this can be even trickier due to the expensive and sometimes complicated insurance cover that you need to take out.
The average cost of insurance cover for businesses is increasing year on year. This is why it can be difficult choosing the right cover for your pub or bar, as it is difficult to know exactly what kind of cover you need (or possibly, what you do not need). So what does pub or bar insurance cover you for?
Public and Products Liability - If your business sells products, then you must take out public and products liability insurance. If any of the products that you sell cause any harm to customers then the chances are that you will have an expensive legal problem on your hands. If you take out appropriate cover, you will be financially reimbursed for any costs that arise, as long as you take the proper precautions as noted in the insurance agreement.
Employers Liability - Employers liability insurance will cover you as the employer for any financial problems arising from a claim made by an employee as a direct result of an injury sustained at work.
Business Interruption - In the event that your business cannot trade due to fire or natural disaster, business interruption cover will compensate you for many of the expenses that you would generally incur in the course of trading.
Loss of Money - If money is lost or stolen from your business during and after business hours, either from business premises or from employees homes, then loss of money insurance will cover you in that eventuality.
Personal Assault - Personal assault insurance gives the employer cover over any injuries sustained by employees in the event of a theft or break in.
Loss of License - If you serve or sell alcohol on your business premises, a given if you run a bar or pub, then you should take out loss of license insurance to cover you in the event of losing your license to serve liquor.
Organizing suitable insurance cover can be extremely complicated. The types of cover listed above are only the main types of cover that are required. It is important to spend time researching exactly what cover you need and finding an insurance company that can fulfill all your requirements. Before you do take out a policy, make sure to read all the terms and conditions in the agreement to be certain that you will be covered in any non-preventable eventuality.

Is it legal to sell alcohol at a bar bought from a liquor store?
I started working at a new bar in Texas and the owner buys directly from the liquor store down the street. Is this legal in anyway?
There is usually a tab on the bottle that says TABC On Premise Consumption with an individual number on each bottle. The bottles you get at the liquor store do not have these tabs. Just wondering if its illegal to use it without the tab.
it should be. why not? the guy just pays more for it than he would with a wholesaler. then again, i dont know s**t about the laws in texas!
