Make Your Own Beer – The Microbrewery

You probably already know that the cost of beer keeps increasing every time you go to buy it. Well, how would you like to make your own beer? Brewing beer at home can save you a bundle of money, and is not as hard as you think it might be. Could you use some tips on how to make beer at home so you don't have to pay so much at the store? Then just follow these step by step instructions for making your own beer.

Items needed

The equipment and ingredients will need to be assembled before you begin home brewing. Included with the equipment is a 5 gallon aluminum kettle, a standard skimmer, a large funnel, a rolling pin, and a thermometer. Some other equipment needs are a 5 gallon container of bottled water, two 3 foot sections of 3/8" flexible tubing, a 5 gallon scratch proof plastic bucket, and glass bottles with caps for the finished beer. The ingredients for the home brew can be purchased at any brewery supply shop, or ordered through the internet. The following ingredients will need to be purchased, 1 pkg. yeast for brewing, 1 oz. of pellet hops, 1 pound crushed crystal malt, six pounds of light dried malt extract, and 1 cup of sugar for bottling.

Boiling Beer

The brewing process begins with crushing the crystal malt with a rolling pin until it is a coarse texture. Use the water from the 5 gallon plastic container of water and fill the aluminum pot to within 3" from the top of the pot, then add the crushed malt to the water. Turn the burner on the stove to medium, and heat the mixture to about 155 degrees ,then cover the pot and let stand for 30 minutes and skim with a strainer to remove as much of the malt as possible. When the malt has been removed bring the water back to a rolling boil. Then add the hop pellets to the boiling water and let it continue to boil for about 60 minutes. After boiling, the mixture will need to be removed from the heat and steeped for ten minutes.

Yeast aging

Pour out the extra water from the 5 gallon water container, because you will use it as a fermentation container. Pour the mixture into the container using the funnel. The pkg. yeast will have to be added to the container. A hole will have to be drilled into the cap to hold one end of the clear tubing. A seal at the cap can be made by melting some wax around the tube where it meets the cap for an airtight seal. The other end of the tube needs placed in a cup of water and the container needs to be placed in a cool dark place for 7 to 10 days.

Bottle the beer

The second fermentation requires you to measure 1 cup of sugar with 1 cup of boiling water, then set it aside to cool. Now pour the sugar water into the scratch proof plastic container, and siphon the beer from the fermenting water bottle in with it, carefully avoiding the sediment at the bottom. The beer can now be bottled and set aside for a week to ten more days before you can drink it. Now your beer will cost less because you know how to make beer at home. Brewing beer at home is easy and now that you can make your own beer you don't have to buy it anymore.

Getting More Knowledge On How To Handle Embarrassing Body Perspiration

It is perceived that one job of the body is to emit sweat throught the skin pores. It is, however, a deflection from normal process when the body produces excessive amount of sweat in specific areas, especially in the armpits. There are easy natural means to remedy this problem. Having a bit perspiration in the armpits is considered as a natural occurrence; however, it becomes a nuisance when it produces over the normal amount of sweat. Getting embarrassed with the feeling of wetness and discomfort should be stopped. Yet, there are available techniques to overcome excessive under arm sweating.

For us to eliminate the wastes and toxins in our body, we need to release sweat through the skin pores. Also, it is a means for the body to normalize our temperature. About 3% percent of the individuals go through extreme perspiration, this is medically named as hyperhidrosis. In here, our glands do not function as usual.

Stimulants such as nicotine and caffeine and other spicy foods could exacerbate the perspiration process. What if you choose appropriate foods that you eat and see for yourself the changes? Having one or two cups of sage tea every day can ease the burden of overly sweating. Try another deodorant or get a prescribed antiperspirant from your physician.

We have about thousands of people who are actually distressed by this condition. This problem can bother any of us starting at an early age. A lot of people do not usually reveal this problem to other people, even to close friends and relative. Other people may perhaps assume that you are ignorant of proper hygiene and taking a bath habitually.

Ending this dilemma is a difficult task to some. It is so annoying to endure wet underarms, especially with too many people around. A large number of microbes could thrive in this perspiration, thus emits a stinky smell. In some worst cases, people will show disgusting looks because of the bad odor your body produces. Because of this, you should seek for tactics to combat this problem.

If you have been troubled by excessive underarm perspiration, you might perhaps tested all of the different products at hand. We have various types of antiperspirants that you can avail of. However provide a temporary remedy, they cannot totally cure the root cause. You might want to try the following:

At bed time, smear on a quantity of apple or any malt vinegar on both of your armpits. Trim the hairs on your armpits at a short length, if you have some. Allow the solution to dry. The vinegar solution acts on the pores and sweat glands, leaving a drying effect and will also balance the odorous smell of the perspiration.

The apple cider vinegar possibly has an astringent properties. This will help dry out your armpits and controls the perspiration. In the morning cleanse your armpits with soap and warm water, as you usually do. You will be guarded from sweating during the day because of the acidic content of the vinegar absorbed during the night it was applied. And, you will no longer be pestered by excessive under arm sweating.

milk and food poisoning?

I made dinner that involved using a measuring cup for milk. I poured the milk into the pan and left the measuring cup on the counter (empty but obviously with milk residue on it). The next morning my husband used that same measuring cup to measure water for his Malt -O- Meal. The water was cloudy, which didn't stop him from using it, and it wasn't until he ate all of his breakfast that he asked if I used that measuring cup for milk the night before. My question is, could the amount of milk in the measuring cup left out overnight cause him to have food poisoning, even though the Malt -O- Meal is heated to almost boiling. I'm not as concerned for him, but my four-year-old also shared some of that hot cereal and his little body might be more at risk. I'm hoping that the slight amount of milk "residue" in the cup not only wouldn't be enough to make anyone sick, but also that the temperature that the milky water was heated would have killed any bacteria. Thanks for your help!!!!

Yes, the amount you left overnight in the cup is enough to get anyone sick no matter the temperature you heat it up to. If food or any spoil-able beverage is left in a temperature range of 40-140 for more than 4 hours, the bacteria has had enough time to grow and reproduce to be harmful to your body. Regardless of the amount of heat you apply to the food or beverage after those 4 hours, enough bacteria has been created to harm your body. Also, if any spores are created, in which most cases start to be produced after the 4 hours, your body will be harmed. Spores are not killed by harsh temperature. Next time, use a new measuring cup or at least wash the one you used completely before using it again.
