What It Takes To Become a Singer
The music industry is more competitive than most folks imagine. Unfortunately there is no way of avoiding plenty of practice and hard work if you're serious about becoming a singer.
Of course you'll have a great head start at becoming a successful singer if you're blessed with a natural singing talent. Add a healthy dose of passion and dedication and chances are good that you will succeed in becoming a singer worthy of success and admiration. Practice is key to becoming a singer. Just like athletes exercise to get physically fit, as a budding singer you need to nurture your talent and work on your weaknesses. It's also helpful if you enjoy being the center of attention and enjoy performing live in front of an audience.
If you're serious about becoming a famous singer you'll not only need to work on your singing, but also your stage presence and live performance. To become a great singer, you'll need to get as much exposure and stage experience as you can. Live performances are a great way to develop a fan base and get your music heard.

Living in Dania Beach/Miami/Ft. Lauderdale?
I am possibly going to start working in Dania Beach, FL. I'm from Michigan, and know nothing about the area. I just graduated from college, so I'm looking for a safe neighborhood with a fun downtown area and a lot of young professionals, bars, coffee shops, etc. My budget is about $900/month for a studio or a 1 bedroom. I'm willing to commute to Dania Beach about 30 minutes. Any suggestions for neighborhoods or specific apartment complexes?

You should be able to find a small apartment in your price range in Dania, or North Hollywood, Davie or Cooper City.
Dania has a dead down town, it is a pit, but just down the road a few minutes to the south is Young's Circle in Hollywood. In the streets just to the West of Young's Circle there are bars, restaurants and coffee shops, a thriving place for young people and artists.
You may even want to look at sharing an apartment so that you end up with a better one.
Get a bicycle, since it is flat and easy to bike around, and then you don't have to pay or worry about for parking.
The beach between Dania Beach Blvd, going south to Hollywood is cool too, but I think the apartments on the beach island would be out of your price range.
